Original provider: Cécile Vincent, Centre d’Études Biologiques de Chizé Dataset credits: Cecile Vincent, CEBC (CNRS/La Rochelle University) Abstract: 8 harbour seals (Phoca vitulina) were captured in the Baie du Montt-Saint-Michel (France) between January 2006 and October 2007 and fitted with Fastloc GPS/GSM tags (Sea Mammal Research Unit - SMRU, UK). The project was funded by the DIREN Basse Normandie. The study was conducted by Cecile Vincent at the University of La Rochelle (France) in collaboration with SMRU, Aero’Baie, PELAGIS (CNRS/La Rochelle University), the Office national de la chasse de la faune sauvage (ONCFS), the Zoo de La Fleche and the Zoo La Bourbansais. Seals were caught under licenses delivered by the French ministry of the environment. Purpose: Identification of individual movements and foraging areas of harbour seals Supplemental information: [2020-10-23] A few records had incorrect date/time. They are corrected.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 13,723 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
