Description

Original provider: Cécile Vincent, Centre d’Études Biologiques de Chizé Dataset credits: Cecile Vincent, CEBC (CNRS/La Rochelle University) Abstract: 21 grey seals (Halichoerus grypus) were captured in the Molene archipelago, Brittany (western France) between June 2010 and June 2013 and fitted with Fastloc GPS/GSM tags (Sea Mammal Research Unit - SMRU, UK). The project was funded by the Parc naturel marin d’Iroise and Région Poitou-Charentes. The study was conducted by Cecile Vincent at the University of La Rochelle (France) in collaboration with SMRU, the Parc naturel marin d’Iroise, Oceanopolis, the Office national de la chasse de la faune sauvage (ONCFS), PELAGIS (CNRS/La Rochelle University) and the Zoo de La Fleche. Seals were caught under licenses delivered by the French ministry of the environment. Purpose: Identification of individual movements and foraging areas of grey seals

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 138,877 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
